Gatherings of the Sufi Circle encompass a range of regular activities overseen by Sheikh Abdul Aziz:
Firstly, talks on Sufi Themes and the Mevlevi tradition, which usually include an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. These provide an intellectual context for the study of Sufism.
Secondly, training workshops in the whirling movement used in the ceremony of Sema. This is often combined with practice for the musicians who accompany the Sema.
Thirdly, Sufi Music Meditation, where you will have the opportunity to listen to sacred meditation music and to participate with Sheikh Abdul Aziz in silent meditation. Listen to a taste.
And fourthly, study of the Mathnawi, the vast body of ecstatic poetry written by Hazreti Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi in the latter part of his life. This provides a basis for learning, which can be applied equally to the practical problems of everyday life as well as to the seeker's esoteric aspirations and personal spiritual journey.
